  • EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE DESIGN Various educational training resources created while working at Retail Institute and ServiceIQ.

    These resources are used by retail employees while completing workplace training to a national standard.

    Involves: cover design, image manipulation, directing photoshoots, working with brand guidelines, instructional design, information design, layout, typography etc...

  • FASHION BRANDING & PROMOTION Fashion branding, collateral and promotion for Massey University fashion and business graduate, Rebecca Hoang.

    Included: company logo, posters, postcards, garment swing tags, personal logo, organising creation of an embossing press, business cards, lookbook, instruction book and graphics for video.

  • STAFF CONFERENCE COLLATERAL Branding and collateral designed for a Retail Institute staff conference.

    Involved: invitation design, wine bottle labels, compliment slips, certificates and various presentations.

  • CONFERENCE PROMOTION Collateral and promotion created for a Retail Institute conference about the future of retail.

    Involved: copywriting, poster, postcard, brochure and presentation design.

  • CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN Marketing collateral and campaign management, for Retail Institute's 12 Weeks of Christmas Campaign. Designed to encourage trainees to complete their qualifications before the end of the year.

    Involved: web icons and graphics, emails and e-newsletters, social media, postcards, communicating with winners and distribution of prizes.

  • IT ENGINE BRANDING Rebranding work for a Wellington IT company (previously Quay Corporate). Designed while working at Retail Institute.

    Involved: logo design, icons, business cards, signage, shirts, letterheads, compliment slips and proposal templates, as well as a quarterly newsletter and other promotional collateral as required.

  • AWARDS COLLATERAL Collateral for Retail Institute's annual Retail Modern Apprentice of the Year 2012 Awards. Included: entry form design, web graphics, stickers, badges, emails, certificates and powerpoint presentations.

    Awards were presented around New Zealand, during the NZRA TopShop Retail Excellence Awards.

  • CHARITY TICKET DESIGN Invitation, ticket and RSVP slip design for the annual Friends of the Cancer Society Diplomatic Charity Ball, held in Wellington.

    Logo was created by a senior designer at Moxie Communications. Layout was a collaboration between me and the senior designer.

  • HAVE YOUR SAY (HONOURS PROJECT) My honours-year project provides residents’ associations with a comprehensive set of community mapping guidelines, enabling them to communicate their opinions in visually effective ways. This will allow for better dialogue and decision-making between community and council.   • ROGER ROAD ASSISTANT As part of a small team we developed Roger Road Assistant as part of our honours-year business paper. Our business idea was entered into the Grow Wellington Bright Ideas Challenge, and made it through to the final round of presentations.

    Roger Road Assistant is a smartphone application which has full GPS functionality, with the addition of real-time (audio) road rule information. This application is currently a concept, but will aim to assist new restricted drivers on New Zealand roads.

  • INFORMATION DESIGN: SEAFOOD POSTERS Two different series of posters examining the NZ Fur Seal and the hoki fishing industry in New Zealand.

    The first series is from the Seafood Industry Council, and is designed to promote the benefits of hoki, at a local food market.

    The second series is from Greenpeace, and aims to educate school children about the impact hoki fishing has on the NZ Fur Seal.

  • CURRENCY REDESIGN Currency redesign for the South African Rand. Based around the threatened environment; the Cape Floristic Region. In association with the United Nations, and the International Year of Biodiversity.

  • DESIGN CONFERENCE Booklet and poster for a conference called Metamorphose; The Future of Identity Design. I researched 8 diverse speakers who had all dealt with extensive identity design projects, and were also leading the way into the future of identity design.

    Speakers included: Harry Pearce, Designworks, Bibliotheque, Christoph Almassy, Studio Round, Strategy, Non-Format, Wolff Olins.

  • FANTAIL POSTER Typographic poster portraying the native New Zealand bird, the Fantail.
    The typeface, colours, composition and graphic elements (swirls), all combine to create a typographic representation of the Fantail and its behaviour — this little bird is known for its cheeky flitting movements.

  • BRANDING & PACKAGING To re-position and re-design Streets' Calippo ice-block for a New Zealand audience.

    Team project (I completed the design).
    We created a healthy and fun ice block in a tube called 'fruitri', made using nostalgic New Zealand fruit; perfect for summer.

  • FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY: CAMPAIGN Fashion campaign for menswear company based in NZ.
    Initial inspiration from ‘Twilight’; colour, lighting, forest setting.
    Theme; Narrative about a contemporary vampire hunting in the forest.
    Images created to look wild and untamed, but still stylish.
